
Jesus made a promise. He said, “the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.” When he arose they remembered his words. When Jesus makes a promise He keeps it.
The angel of the Lord came that first Easter morning. He moved the stone away. The men stationed to guard the tomb fell back in fear and fainted.
Mary Magdalene came to the tomb early in the morning while it was still dark. She saw the stone taken away. So she ran to tell Peter and John. They ran to the tomb and Peter went inside. He saw the linen cloths laying there and the face cloth set aside folded neatly by itself.
After they left Mary stayed behind weeping. Then Jesus appeared, “Why are you weeping? He said, “Whom are you seeking?” She thought he was the gardener. But Jesus said to her, “Mary.” Immediately, she looked up and knew it was the Lord. “Rabboni,” (“teacher” in Aramaic ), and clung to Him. “Go tell my brothers,” he said, “I am going up to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.” So she went and told his disciples “I have seen the Lord.”
